As Vice President of REO Asset Management, Mr. Mont is responsible for overseeing AMIP’s REO Asset Management, property valuations, property preservation, insurance/mortgage insurance, property taxes and HOA teams. Mr. Mont has 15 years of experience in the acquisition and asset management of residential and commercial real estate.
Prior to joining AMIP, Mr. Mont worked for American Homes 4 Rent (NYSE: AMH), at the time the largest publicly traded single family REIT, where he was responsible for alternative acquisitions and dispositions, including AMH’s entrance into the NPL market. His responsibilities included the underwriting of all potential NPL portfolios for the company's NPL-to-Rental strategy. Additionally, while at American Homes 4 Rent Mr. Mont developed the asset disposition platform for the entire portfolio, spanning twenty-two states and the sale of over $10 million per quarter. Mr. Mont started with American Homes 4 Rent as a small family office and grew with the company through IPO in July 2013.
Prior to American Homes 4 Rent, Mr. Mont spent 6 years working for 2 different private equity firms, Starpoint Properties and Investors Management Group, focusing on sourcing, acquiring, underwriting, diligence, and asset management of portfolios of multifamily and commercial assets. At Starpoint Properties, Mr. Mont led all acquisition and financing efforts in addition to handling the asset management.
Mr. Mont has a BS in business from Cal State University, Northridge and is also a licensed California real estate agent and licensed through the NMLS.
