Mr. Banchik oversees operations at AMIP with a focus on automation, modeling and financial reporting. Mr. Banchik has over 30 years of experience in various operational, technical and managerial roles, having spent the last 23 years exclusively in the financial service industry. Prior to his role at AMIP he spent 13 years in various senior management roles for Western Asset Management, a $500 billion global fixed income asset manager, where he oversaw multiple teams responsible for analytics, modeling, risk, valuation, market data, and performance attribution. He served as Chairman of the firm’s Model Risk Committee and a member of the firm’s Operations Sub-Committee, Valuation Committee, and Workout Committee. Prior to that he was responsible for the firm’s Information Technology strategy, process and platform including development and 24x7 support for all systems used for accounting, settlement, market, credit and liquidity risk management, market data management, and modeling of residential mortgage passthrough and structured products.
Earlier in his career Mr. Banchik held roles with profit and loss responsibility for lines of business for various public and private technology consulting firms, and as an independent advisor to banks and asset managers on operations outsourcing and implementation of large-scale transformational technology initiatives. Mr. Banchik holds a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
