Ron McMahan works in the AMIP Seal Beach office and is primarily focused on strategic initiatives and portfolio management. Mr. McMahan has 25 years of experience as a financial and investment management executive. Since 1998 he has worked exclusively in the residential real estate industry with a focus on distressed credit situations. Subsequent to the onset of the 2008 financial crisis, Mr. McMahan has managed ten separate HNW and Institutional investment funds, including the RCO vehicles, focused on the purchase and resolution of distressed residential assets. At these funds, Mr. McMahan raised debt and equity financing, sourced NPL, RPL, and REO assets, managed all day-to-day operations, established and developed loss mitigation policies and procedures, oversaw and managed all third-party legal activities, and developed and managed borrower outreach and education programs. During this time frame, Mr. McMahan raised approximately $4b in equity and debt financing for these funds.
Prior to co-founding AMIP in 2016, Mr. McMahan founded and managed a residential mortgage origination and private money lending firm. The firm was focused on the western United States and specialized in the provision of second mortgages to financially distressed consumers. At this company, Mr. McMahan developed financial monitoring and remediation programs for consumers that are the basis of many of the AMIP loss mitigation strategies. Prior thereto, Mr. McMahan worked in multiple management positions in corporate finance in North America and internationally. Mr. McMahan holds a BS and an MS from Cal State Long Beach, is a California Real Estate Broker, and is nationally licensed with the NMLS.
